Getting Lost at Jia

Our first Jia Curated felt a little surreal. Everywhere we turned, something unexpected appeared among the trees and dust of the Sanur beachfront. Sculptural objects, strange materials, playful installations and things we couldn’t immediately identify.

We spent the day wandering without much planning, stopping for conversations and learning about designers, materials and ways of building from across the region that we knew almost nothing about. An old Canon S95 had recently resurfaced in mint condition, so we took it with us and photographed whatever caught our eye.

Mostly, we just got lost in the day. It was fun. We left feeling curious, free and inspired. And that was just day one.
