We don’t just catalog places—we frame them. Through cinematic films, editorial photography, and sharp, thoughtful writing, Des Res Bali approaches architecture, hospitality, and design culture through an editorial lens. Every space is more than walls and square footage. It’s design thinking, atmosphere, craftsmanship, and the stories that make it memorable.
Des Res does not operate as a standalone commercial media or publishing business. It does not sell advertising, subscriptions, paid editorial placement, property listings, referrals or affiliate promotion, and does not exchange editorial coverage for products, services or complimentary stays.

A Fresh, Editorial Perspective on Bali's Spaces and Design Culture
Bali’s built environment is evolving rapidly. Across the island, architects, designers, hoteliers, developers, and homeowners are creating spaces that reflect new ideas about tropical living, sustainability, craftsmanship, and place.
Yet much of this work is often reduced to standard property listings, marketing copy, or fleeting social media content.
Des Res Bali was created to document these spaces through a different lens. We curate homes, hotels, renovations, hospitality projects, and notable places that feel unique, thoughtful, and design-driven, then give them the storytelling treatment they deserve.
Our platform blends original editorial storytelling, film, photography, and visual culture to document Bali’s most interesting spaces. Part design journal, part cultural archive, and part visual storytelling platform, Des Res explores the people, places, and ideas shaping the island’s evolving built environment.
Our Background
Behind Des Res Bali is Three Word Agency, a British-American-led creative studio based in Bali.
Our team brings decades of experience across film, editorial, advertising, journalism, branding and creative direction, with careers spanning London, Manchester, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and beyond.
We’ve worked across television, editorial, copywriting, filmmaking, and design, and we’ve brought that experience together to create a platform that celebrates Bali’s architecture, hospitality, and design culture with depth, curiosity, and craft.
We live here. We know the island. And we believe its most interesting spaces deserve more than a quick scroll.
What We’re Not
Des Res Bali is not a real estate agency, broker, property consultant, accommodation marketplace, or transaction intermediary.
We do not participate in property transactions, verify listings, facilitate bookings, provide investment advice, or receive commissions on property sales.
Our role is editorial. We document and share stories about architecture, hospitality, interiors, materials, and design culture through writing, photography, film, and visual storytelling.
