Drifter Surf, Uluwatu | AKA 'The Temple of Surf'

Call it a surf shop, call it a café, call it the “Temple of Surf” (plenty do), Drifter is a place for adventure seekers, non adventure seekers, cappuccino lovers, book fanatics, and everything in between. It’s been a lifeline for Bali surfers since 2008 and still nails that magic mix of wax, boards, books, and community. You’ll find racks of Gerry Lopez pocket rockets and high-performance Pyzels next to indie mags and the best cold-pressed juice on The Bukit.

There’s always a long table buzzing with conversation and at least one event you didn’t plan on staying for but end up loving—a film night, a speaker series, a gig. If you hang around long enough, you’ll probably leave with a new friend, a new board, a new book—and a pair of sunnies you never really needed, but your sunsets are better because of them.
